This collection is the second one that was born. I don’t use two wooden frames, but just one. First I weave everything. Then I take one ribbon and pull it out so it ‘drops’. This drop is filled with other drops of ribbon. Sometimes in one colour, sometimes in different shades of one colour.

Before I start, I decide the size of the frame and the main colour, sometimes I have an idea of the colours in the drop, but this can change during the process. The pattern of weaving is decided when I’m working on it, not in advance. The drop is filled like a fashion designer uses the ‘moulage’ technique. You make the design by using the material, see what it does, what it wants, how it falls and drapes and pin this together.
